DECATUR, GA — A new development on the old site of the Avondale MARTA parking lot is set to begin accepting residents in a few months.
East Decatur — formerly called E.co East — is a joint project between MARTA, the City of Decatur and private developer Columbia Ventures, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. It covers 7.7 acres on East College Avenue.
Developers say the project’s first phase is nearly complete. lt will include 23,000 square feet of retail space and 470 apartments, 92 of which will be reserved for senior citizens. Only one retailer, Association Credit Union, has been publicly announced so far.
